About Daniel Bolton
As a dual board-certified general surgeon, Dr. Daniel Bolton is dual fellowship-trained in burn and reconstructive surgery and trauma and surgical critical care. He is also an active serving medical officer in the U.S. Navy. With over two decades of medical experience, he focuses on minimally invasive techniques, including robotic surgery for complex soft tissue reconstruction, hernia repair, complex abdominal wall reconstruction, general surgery, surgical emergencies, trauma-injured patients, and plastic and reconstructive surgery for scar revision and wounds. Originally hailing from New Zealand, Dr. Bolton adopts a holistic approach to surgical care. With his initial training as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, he spent over a decade practicing primary care before transitioning to surgery. From the moment a patient enters his practice, he works to understand them as an individual, collaborating to promote the best possible treatment, recovery, and rehabilitation plans for improvement and better recovery. Dr. Bolton serves as the Trauma Medical Director for VBMC’s Hospital Trauma Program and is a dedicated surgeon for the U.S. Navy. In addition to his clinical practice, he is an assistant professor of surgery at UTRGV and a Diplomate of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Bolton also holds several leadership roles at both regional and national levels, showcasing his commitment to advancing the field of surgery.
