Dr. Barrera earned his medical degree from Universidad de Montemorelos Escuela de Medicina in NL, Mexico. He then moved to the United States to complete his residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas, San Antonio, Valley Baptist Medical Center. He also completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Loma Linda University Adventist Health Sciences Center.

Dr. Barrera is simply put amazing. I am blessed to have found him. He understands my comorbidities and the risks associated with them. He listens to my concerns and allows my medical knowledge to guide my concern and he eases them with his expertise. He is understanding and compassionate in a way that I never would have expected from a male doctor working with obstetrics. Your facility is blessed to have him.
