Alejandro Rios Tovar, MD

Dr. Alejandro RiosTovar is a board-certified general and surgical critical care surgeon with extensive expertise in minimally invasive procedures. He specializes in the care of trauma-injured and critically ill patients, drawing on more than a decade of experience to provide advanced surgical treatment. His clinical practice encompasses trauma surgery, abdominal hernias, gallbladder disease, and colorectal conditions. Dedicated to patient-centered care, Dr. Tovar prioritizes educating his patients about their treatment options, ensuring they understand both the benefits and potential risks to make informed decisions. He takes great pride in optimizing outcomes and helping patients return to the activities they value most. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Tovar serves as Associate Trauma Medical Director at the University Medical Center of El Paso. He is also a course director for Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), where he trains and mentors local healthcare providers in life-saving techniques.
