Current PGY1 Pharmacy Residents

Daisy A. Madrigal, PharmD: is currently a PGY-1 resident at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville. She received her Doctorate in Pharmacy from the University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy in May 2020. Dr. Madrigal is currently a member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). Her professional interests include Infectious Disease, Critical Care, and Cardiology. Dr. Madrigal’s current research projects include the evaluation of time to appropriate antibiotic therapy in patients with positive blood cultures with Verigene® implementation, as well as the evaluation of anticoagulation therapies for venous thromboembolism prophylaxis in patients with COVID-19. Upon completion of her PGY-1 pharmacy residency, Dr. Madrigal plans to obtain board certification in pharmacotherapy, become a clinical pharmacist in the Rio Grande Valley and continue doing research in her fields of interest.
