The Heritage Program for senior adults is a mental health program that provides individualized treatment for older adults who suffer from psychiatric, emotional, or behavioral disorders. The philosophy of the Heritage Program is to provide quality care that stresses the importance of dignity, respect, confidentiality and helping the individual to achieve an optimal level of functioning.
The Heritage Program is an outpatient mental health program, available in Harlingen and Brownsville. Open Monday through Friday, this unique program provides intensive and comprehensive mental health care to adults 55 years and older.
The Harlingen program is under the medical direction of Dr. Daniel Villarreal, a Psychiatrist. Dr. Tomas Gonzalez, a Psychiatrist, heads the Brownsville program as the medical director. Both facilities have an extensive multidisciplinary team including Registered Nurses, Master Level Social Workers, Licensed Professional Counselors, and mental health providers.
