The chaplains of Valley Baptist offer support services to staff as well as patients
and their families. Here are ways chaplains may be supportive to staff:

Pastoral/Spiritual Support
This support can be formal or informal. We pray with or for staff about
concerns. We want to offer our presence to you in times of
anxiety, sadness, joy or frustration. Chaplains can be especially
supportive in times of loss or grief.

Short-term Spiritual/Pastoral Counseling
Chaplains may aide staff in making life and work decisions through
reflective listening techniques and helping to clarify values. Sometimes
life can be spiritually distressing and chaplains are available to the
staff of Valley Baptist Health System. Chaplains will respect all
religious traditions.

Help with locating a local religious community
Since chaplains are very familiar with the local religious community,
they can be helpful to staff in locating particular groups that coincide
with staffs needs and wants.

Help with leading and organizing rituals

Chaplains can help with opening meetings (staff & others) with
spiritual reflection and/or prayer.

Chaplains can perform marriages and can provide pre-marital
counseling.

Chaplains can perform baptisms.

Chaplains are skilled to help with dedications.

Chaplains are skilled and experienced with issues concerning
funerals/memorials.

Chaplains are experience in leading rituals for units/departments
that edifies the workplace and each person’s purpose in helping
fulfill the mission of Valley Baptist Health System.

Chaplains are available to provide educational programs for staff or
unit on topics related to spirituality, ministry, ethics and chaplaincy
in the healthcare setting.
