May - A month to Celebrate and Remember
The Pieta, which depicts the Virgin Mary holding the body of her son
Jesus Christ after his death, makes us think in the great love that
mothers have for their children. Every time I have an opportunity to
contemplate this masterpiece by Michelangelo, I think of the wonderful
love that God gave us through Jesus Christ. The Virgin Mary was a chosen
vessel to be the mother of Christ. Her character was always sweet and
humble. I imagine all the wonderful moments that Jesus enjoyed of her
tenderness and love during the first years of His life.
During this month of May we celebrate Mother’s Day. As we remember
our mother let’s ask our Father above to bless, protect, and give her
His love and special touch in order that we can continue having the gift
of her presence in our hearts.
