GODISNOWHERE

GOD IS NO WHERE

GOD IS NOW HERE

Scrabble is a great game. You are given these wooden squares with letters on them and the object of the game is to form words out of the letters you are given or by using the words or letters placed on the board. I have enjoyed playing this game and at times wonder “Why did I not see that?” A missed opportunity passes me by although it was in plain sight.

The letters above are the same on all three lines, it is possible to form many words out of these letters if we rearrange them, but if we place spaces between them we could make a couple of statements. Two possible statements formed are “God is no where” or “God is now here”. The holidays could be a time for some to question “Where? Where is God?” The difficulties they have faced in the past or at the moment may direct them toward the second line while the third line is also an opportunity.

“Emmanuel”, a name in the book of Isaiah could translate “God with us”. This is something that I celebrate during this time of year in my faith tradition. Allow some space for God during this busiest time of year and do not miss the opportunity to see “God is now here”.
