Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy is the practice of prescribing exercises to improve
strength, range of motion, flexibility, walking ability, and
activities of daily living. The physical therapist will develop a
treatment plan with you, in order to achieve the goals that are
important and meaningful to you. Therapy will focus on adapting you to
the environment and assisting you to cope with the obstacles of daily
life. Physical therapists work with patients of all ages having
physical, developmental, and cognitive problems.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy involves the use of adaptive equipment and
focuses on adapting the environment to the patient. The occupational
therapist may work on strengthening, range of motion and activities

of
daily living as well as with problem solving strategies, energy
conservation, and specific activities (cooking or brushing your hair).
Occupational therapists work with people of all ages having physical,
developmental, cognitive, social and emotional problems.
Speech/Language Pathology
Speech language pathology involves the diagnosis and treatment of
patients with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing problems
associated with several conditions and developmental disorders. Speech
language pathologists treat linguistic impairments, oral motor deficits,
feeding/swallowing difficulties, diminished social skills, and impaired
communication. Speech-language pathologists treat members of all age
groups (i.e., pediatric to geriatric populations) to promote effective
verbal and/or non-verbal communication.
