Valley Baptist Health System provides rehabilitation services based
on the patient’s needs. Patients may receive services in the hospital,
the inpatient rehab unit, the skilled nursing facility, Home Health, or
the outpatient rehab clinic. Rehab services assists individuals who have
undergone surgery, or experienced illness or injury which results in a
loss of functional ability and/or self-care skills. Services are
designed to assist the individual to achieve his/her highest possible
level of independence, function and recovery. Psychosocial aspects of
adjusting to disability are addressed along with the physical aspect of
illness or injury.

Health care professionals from multiple disciplines work together as
a team to coordinate care and encourage independence in daily
activities. The main focus of the team is the patient. Family members
are encouraged to participate in the program of care as much as possible
under the team’s guidance. Team members may include:
- Physiatrist (doctor who specializes in rehabilitation) and other
physicians as needed.

- Speech-language Pathologist
- Case Manager
- Social Worker
- Psychologist
- Dietitian
- Chaplain
- Pharmacist
- Other health professionals as needed
