Counseling Services
We know it's difficult to eat healthy and control weight. Like many Americans struggling with excess pounds, you may be concerned about the health risks associated with being overweight.
Today's hectic schedules can make losing weight and finding healthy food
options seem challenging, particularly for those who eat many of their
meals in restaurants or away from home.
Research has shown that a diet lower in calories and fat, and high in fiber (fruits, vegetables, whole grains and legumes) can be helpful in achieving optimal weight.
This can potentially reduce the risk of some cancers, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and other diseases.
The staff at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Harlingen can assess your current eating patterns and help you achieve a healthy diet and body weight through developing healthy eating habits, including smart food shopping and preparation, nutritious food choices, and portion control.
Open to the general public, the Valley Baptist Medical Center-Harlingen Nutrition Counseling Services offer individual dietary counseling with a registered dietitian/nutritionist, group presentations, and educational materials.
All outpatients must first check-in at
Outpatient Registration
before proceeding to Outpatient Nutrition Counseling Services.
