Many surgeries can be done on an outpatient basis, allowing you
to come to the hospital and return home on the same day.
Registration for Day Surgery is conveniently located at the
Outpatient entrance of the hospital off of Central Blvd., and is
open Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Preparing correctly for your surgery is extremely important.
Adhering to the following procedures and protocols can help make
sure the process proceeds smoothly.
Pre-Registration
- We encourage you to pre-register for surgery at the
hospital at least three days before your surgery.
- Bring all paperwork from your physician's office, any
x-ray films, identification insurance information and a list
of all current medications.
- Please allow at least 30 minutes for pre-registration.
This time may be extended if you need to have lab work, EKG, or x-rays performed.
The Day Of Your Surgery
- You will be notified of your arrival time the day before surgery.
- If you are taking medications, ask your physician if you should take them the
day of your surgery. Examples: insulin, blood pressure pills, heart medications, vitamins, etc.
- Do not wear jewelry, makeup, nail polish or bring valuables with you. If you wear contacts
or glasses, please bring a case for them. Remember to wear comfortable clothing.
- A responsible adult must take you home after you are discharged.
- A parent or legal guardian should accompany a minor throughout their outpatient stay.
- A parent or legal guardian must also sign the minor's surgery consent form.
