Al-Anon
AL-Anon meetings are held every Wednesday at noon the the Employee Assistance Program group room in Suite 3G, 2121 Pease Street. In AL-Anon, members share their own experiences, strength and hope with each other. You will meet others who share your feelings and frustrations, if not your exact situation. Members come together to learn a better way of life, to find happiness whether the alcoholic is still drinking or not.
Alzheimer's Association Support Groups in the Valley

Amputee Support Group
The Amputee Support Group was created to help amputees, family and caregivers with information on caring for individuals with amputations. This group meets every three months. The meetings are free and open to the public.
"Dialogue" -- A Cancer Support Group
Meets the First & Third Wednesday of the Month 12:30 p.m. in the Abbott Medication Room First Floor, East Tower at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen.
Dialogue is:

An ongoing support group for cancer patients, their families and friends.

Friends of Cancer
The “Friends of Cancer Support Group” was formed in 1998. The purpose of the group is to provide support, information, and to offer hope, encouragement and comfort to individuals who have or have had cancer. All information shared is confidential.

Diabetes Type 2 Support Group
Valley Baptist Medical Center - Harlingen
The purpose of this group is to provide educational opportunities for patients and their families to learn how to better self-manage Type 2 Diabetes. Meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month (unless otherwise specified) at the Woodward Conference Center, check our Event Calendar for dates. Valley Baptist Medical Center - Brownsville

Life After Loss Support Group
The purpose of this group is to share some ideas and skills for coping with the grief experienced after the loss of a loved one. Participants are given the opportunity to share freely in an atmosphere of safety and trust. Three six-week sessions in English are held per year.
