Six Sigma Initiatives
Six Sigma is a comprehensive and flexible program for achieving, sustaining and maximizing workplace success. Uniquely driven by the "Voice of the Customer," Six Sigma uses facts, data and statistical analysis to manage, improve and reinvent workplace processes that enhance our ability to take care of our patients.
Valley Baptist has used Six Sigma techniques to improve every aspect of our organization and improve our focus on providing quality care. We have been recognized nationally and internationally for our successes.

Black Belt
The Team leader that accepts primary responsibility for the routine work and results of a Six Sigma project. They are hands-on workers, work full time on projects, and do much of the detailed work. Black Belts undergo five weeks of training and work full-time on Six Sigma projects.
Green Belt
Green Belts receive the same training as Black Belts (five weeks) and are team leaders for selected projects. Green Belts are not full time Six Sigma positions, however, they are required to dedicate approximately 25% of their time to Six Sigma projects in addition to their existing job.
Six Sigma
The world-renowned Six Sigma program is one of our Quality Initiatives and has helped to create a culture of quality and accountability in many of the nation’s workplaces. Valley Baptist is a leader among Six Sigma programs in the healthcare industry and uses these tools to continue enhancing and promoting superior patient care.
