Black Belt
The Team leader that accepts primary responsibility for the routine work and results of
a Six Sigma project. They are hands-on workers, work full time on projects, and do much of the detailed work.
Black Belts undergo five weeks of training and work full-time on Six Sigma projects.
Green Belt
Green Belts receive the same training as Black Belts (five weeks) and are team leaders for selected
projects. Green Belts are not full time Six Sigma positions, however, they are required to dedicate
approximately 25% of their time to Six Sigma projects in addition to their existing job.
