Message from Valley Baptist Chief Quality Officer,
Tomas A. Gonzalez, MD, MBA
Valley Baptist’s highest priority is to provide the safest and highest quality of care to our patients. At Valley Baptist, quality is one of our five strategic initiatives which drives every thing we do as an organization. Our teams of caring physicians, nurses, and other health professionals are committed to treat each patient like he or she was one of their own family members.

One of the tools we use to continuously improve quality at Valley Baptist is Six Sigma, a comprehensive and flexible program for achieving, sustaining and maximizing success, as defined by our customers. Valley Baptist has over 100 ongoing Six Sigma initiatives addressing the most important issues in health care quality and safety today at our Harlingen and Brownsville hospitals. Many of these initiatives focus on ensuring the care we provide consistently follows evidence-based medicine – so that when you or your loved one comes into the hospital, you will receive the best possible treatment according to the latest scientifically-proven steps to care for a particular disease or condition.

If you have any questions, suggestions or comments, or would like more information about our nationally-recognized quality improvement efforts at Valley Baptist-Harlingen or our award-winning team at Valley Baptist-Brownsville, please feel free to contact our Quality Initiatives team at (956) 389-1530 or by e-mail at Celia.Hernandez@ValleyBaptist.net. We are here for you.
