Emergency Care

We know that if you had a choice, you’d never need emergency medical services. But accidents do happen, and illnesses occur outside your doctor’s regular office hours, so emergency care is needed.

And that’s why Valley Baptist Medical Center is the Valley's emergency hospital of choice.

Emergency Medical Services

Wouldn’t it be nice if everything just went along according to plan? Yes, but we know that the unexpected is always a very real possibility. And when that takes the form of a medical emergency, you need help fast.

That’s why Valley Baptist Medical Center’s emergency departments are here for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We know that life doesn't stick to a schedule, so we don’t either.

In the Rio Grande Valley, everyone knows where to go when they’re not feeling well and there’s no time to waste: Valley Baptist. We’ve been the community’s health partner for more than 90 years. That’s the difference. That’s Valley Baptist Care.

  • We’ve got the room. We see more than 75,000 people a year, so when we say we’re ready to help we mean it. Valley Baptist has 36 emergency-department beds in Harlingen, and 20 in Brownsville, so we’ve got plenty of room for you and your family.
  • We’ve got the technology. From computerized documentation to get your records ready faster to remote viewing of scans and X-rays for physicians, we’ve got the equipment and know-how to get you treated faster and smarter.
  • Weve got the people. At Valley Baptist, our skilled caregivers love what they do. That’s why our award-winning doctors, nurses and care staff stay with us for years, even decades. They know our community, and they know you.

Level III Trauma Centers
