Wound Care: Hyperbaric

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a treatment that speeds the healing of the most challenging wounds. Oxygen delivered to the wound helps the body fight infection, decrease swelling and form new tissue and blood vessels more quickly.

How It Works

During the treatment, you’ll lie in a specially designed hyperbaric chamber. The air pressure is raised slowly, much like how it’s done inside an airplane cabin. The higher pressure allows your body to absorb more oxygen, and thus speed healing.

If you have a wound that has not shown significant improvement after a month, or healed completely after two months, you may need additional therapies.
