Family Practice Residency Clinic
Welcome to the Valley Baptist Family Practice Residency Program, the YEEHA program of South Texas. We provide faith-based health care for 20,000 people: 60% adult, 25 % pediatrics, 15% elderly and 10% OB. With a great population and lots of procedures, we are ready, able and willing to give students and residents the best hands-on experience around. That’s a real YEEHA.
The mission of our program is to provide excellent care to our patients, quality training to our residents and compassionate outreach in our community as we strive to follow Christ’s example of healing lives and relationships.
We are a Christ-centered training program with a Biblical world view. Come and see how people of faith are able to share their lives, their love, and their medical skills in a way that is effective and satisfying to the professional and to the patients.
We believe in real outreach to the community including our Wednesday free clinics to the very poorest Colonias in our tri-county area. Our Summer Medical Institute reaches 1,000 patients in Mexico and in South Texas. Our fully accredited program has a unique apprenticeship-style curriculum that provides real life training for family physicians. We have more clinic experience and less wasted rotational time so that the graduate is prepared to move into a clinic, manage the clinic and practice family medicine.
