Free Community Education Program on Ministry To be Held in Harlingen Jan. 7
Harlingen --
A free community education program on “Ministry of Conversation” will be held on Thursday, Jan. 7 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Boggus Education Pavilion, 2110 Benwood, across from the Emergency entrance of Valley Baptist Medical Center-Harlingen. Valley Baptist Chaplain Chris Hall will speak and answer questions. The meeting is free and open to all ministers and the public.
“The Pastoral Service Department at Valley Baptist is excited to present this ministry opportunity for the Rio Grande Valley community,” said Chaplain Joe Perez, Vice President for Pastoral Services at Valley Baptist. “This community education program has been created to provide a forum for the community, and to assist in the pastoral care development of our neighbors. We are basing this ministry on Proverbs 27:17, ‘Just as iron sharpens iron, friends sharpen the minds of each other.’ ”
The program is held the first Thursday of the month, September through May, and covers various topics, including “Pregnancy Loss / Ministry,” “Storytelling,” and “Holiday Grief Support.”
