3rd Annual Black Tie Bash In Brownsville To Benefit Women's
Services
Brownsville, January 1, 2009 -- The third
annual charity event to benefit Valley Baptist Medical
Center-Brownsville will be held Friday evening, January 9, 2009
at the Brownsville Events Center, 1 Event Center Blvd. off
Paredes Line Road.
The “Black Tie Bash” will be an elegant evening featuring
exquisite food and fantastic musical entertainment by “The
Pictures,” a band from Austin, Texas. In addition, there will be
a short program on how women benefit from the Women’s Services
at Valley Baptist, as well as a video on the benefits of the
Carolyn Fund. The Carolyn Fund is a fund that provides breast
prosthetics to needy post-mastectomy patients.
“This gala will benefit Valley Baptist Medical Center in
Brownsville, specifically Women’s Services,” said Judy
Quisenberry, Director of Development for the Valley Baptist
Foundation. “With the funds raised from last year’s event, we
were able to help renovate the triage area for Labor and
Delivery, renovate the waiting room as well as provide some
cosmetic upgrades for all of the Women’s Services areas. The
funds this year will help complete the project.”
Valley Baptist purchased the Brownsville hospital four years
ago. Since that time, total capital investment in the main
Brownsville campus is in excess of $100 million. Currently,
construction is underway on a major upgrade of surgery suites
which will benefit women and other patients.
Valley Baptist Health System is a comprehensive community health
system committed to providing the highest quality of patient
care that is both professional and compassionate.
The Valley Baptist Foundation exists to assure philanthropic
support for state-of-the-art technology and facilities, advanced
health care services, community programs and medical education
offered at our hospitals.
“As a partner in this endeavor, you would be helping Valley
Baptist make a difference in the health and well being of those
we serve,” Ms. Quisenberry added. “Last year this event -- along
with an appeal for our Screening Mammogram and Carolyn Funds --
raised over $120,000. This year, with the way the economy is,
we’d like to match that amount, with the dollars going
specifically to the Carolyn Fund and Women’s Services in
Brownsville.”
For the third year in a row, Cardon Healthcare Network, Inc. is
serving as Presenting Sponsor for the Black Tie Bash. Those who
would like more information on the event, or would like to join
