Lights for Life

Valley residents and their families were invited to “jump start” the holiday season at a “Lights for Life” celebration held on Tuesday, December 1st, at 6:15 p.m. outside the East Tower Entrance of Valley Baptist Medical Center-Harlingen.

This 18th annual event featured a tree-lighting ceremony, with a giant Christmas tree lighted by the flip of a switch by the Sam Sparks family, generous supporters of Valley Baptist. There was also Christmas caroling by the St. Anthony Catholic School Choir and Harlingen High School South Choir, refreshments, and an early visit from Santa Claus.

Donating to help light the holiday tree is an opportunity for one to honor or memorialize a special person in their life or as a special tribute to someone who has passed away. Each gift, no matter what the size will help illuminate a light on our holiday tree throughout the Christmas season.
