19th Annual Lights for Life
The community was invited to get into the holiday spirit with an invitation to an annual “Lights for Life” celebration which was held on Tuesday, November 30 at 6:30 p.m. just outside the East Tower entrance of Valley Baptist Medical Center – Harlingen.
The 19th annual event featured the late Colonel H. William “Bill” Card, Jr. family, generous supporters of Valley Baptist, being greeted by twelve MMA cadets. A giant Christmas tree was also lit by the flip of a switch by the Card family and several children they invited forward from the audience. There was also Christmas caroling by the St. Anthony Catholic School Choir and Harlingen High School South Choir, refreshments, and an early visit from Santa Claus.
Donating to help light the holiday tree is an opportunity for one to honor or memorialize a special person in their life or as a special tribute to someone who has passed away. Each gift, no matter what the size, helps illuminate a light on our holiday tree throughout the Christmas season.
