No kidding around – Jeff Foxworthy is coming to Harlingen! Join us for an evening of laughs as we enjoy the comedy of Jeff Foxworthy while we raise money to help kids all over the Rio Grande Valley. This one-of-a-kind event will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 8:00pm at the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Showgrounds in Mercedes.

This year’s event proceeds will go towards our two on-going projects: a new Pediatric Emergency Department located at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Harlingen and pediatric renovation in Brownsville. These facilities will enable children to be treated by specially trained staff with the equipment and services designed especially for them. Plans include a special play room and waiting area just for them providing faster service than currently available. Both projects are currently underway.

Opening just prior to Jeff Foxworthy will be the Valley’s version of “Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader” – 5th graders from all over Harlingen will have an opportunity to audition to participate by taking a 50 question test. The top twenty will be chosen to participate on stage on October 25th. The test date will be September 27th at 9:00am at the Treasure Hills Elementary School Cafeteria.
