The 8th Annual “Golf for Life” Tournament benefiting Heart and Vascular Services at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Harlingen was held at the Treasure Hills Country Club on June 3, 2006, with dinner and prizes following the event. This tournament was put on by Raul and Cynthia Garza and raised over $18,000 for our Heart and Vascular Services.
In addition to the generosity shown by VBHS employees, others in the community contributed to the annual effort to make the holidays brighter for terminally-ill patients and needy families.  For example, Frank Puente Jr., a local roofer, donated the materials and labor to repair the roof on the home of a needy Harlingen family.  For more information on the Adopt-A-Family project, please contact Judy Quisenberry in the Valley Baptist Foundation at 389-1614.
