Cinco de Mayo Fiesta 2010

Cinco de Mayo Fiesta Logo

The 3rd Annual Cinco de Mayo Fiesta hosted by the Foundation Circle is scheduled for Friday, May 7, 2010, at the Puesta del Sol in Harlingen. Everyone who attends the fiesta will be welcomed by strolling Mariachis, taste a unique style of Mexican food prepared by the chefs of the Magnolia Grille, be entertained by the UTB Ballet Folklorico Tizatlan directed by Dr. Zelma Mata and then dance under the stars to the music of Blue Rio.

Not only will this be a Fiesta Fantastica, but we are also celebrating the Hospital’s 85th Anniversary and to commemorate this we are establishing a new endowment. It is our goal to raise $10 million over the next 10 years to create a permanent endowment for future needs. 2020: A Vision for the Future intends to raise a million dollars every year until the year 2020.

This endowment is a fund held in perpetuity and is invested in a manner that protects the principal from inflation. Only the income from the pooled donations will be used to fund projects, such as renovations or equipment purchases; the principal will remain intact. It can be a wellspring of income for a variety of purposes. Once fully funded, the endowment will provide Valley Baptist with approximately $500,000 per year—forever.
