FREE DIABETES SCREENINGS TO BE HELD IN BROWNSVILLE,
HARLINGEN, THIS SATURDAY

Valley Baptist will hold free Diabetes Expos -- featuring free health screenings and education about the deadly disease that affects thousands of Valley residents -- this Saturday, Nov. 17 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at Sunrise Mall in Brownsville (Sears Court Entrance) and at Valle Vista Mall in Harlingen (next to Sam Goody).



The Diabetes Expos, which will be held in English and Spanish, will include free blood glucose, eye, foot and stroke screenings; blood pressure checks; and a body fat analysis. Certified diabetes educators and other health care professionals will be on hand for consultation after screenings. In addition, helpful information will be provided by the American Diabetes Association.

The twin events will also feature giveaways and door prizes. Diabetes Expo is sponsored by the Diabetes Education Centers at Valley Baptist-Brownsville and Valley Baptist-Harlingen and the American Diabetes Association.
