2ND ANNUAL BLACK TIE BASH IN BROWNSVILLE TO BENEFIT WOMEN’S SERVICES

Brownsville, December 31, 2007  –- The second annual charity event to benefit Valley Baptist Medical Center-Brownsville will be held Friday evening, January 18, 2008 at the Brownsville Event Center, 1 Event Center Blvd. off Paredes Line Road.

The Black Tie Bash will be an elegant evening featuring exquisite food and fantastic musical entertainment by “Metropoli,” a 14-member band from Monterrey, Mexico. In addition, there will be a short program on how women benefit from the Women’s Services at Valley Baptist.

“This gala will benefit Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville, specifically Women’s Services,” said Judy Quisenberry, Director of Development for the Valley Baptist Foundation. “Renovation plans are currently underway for a triage area for Labor and Delivery, as well as some cosmetic upgrades for all of Women’s Services areas.”

Valley Baptist purchased the Brownsville hospital three years ago. Since that time, total capital investment in the main Brownsville campus is in excess of $100 million. Valley Baptist Health System is a comprehensive community health system committed to providing the highest quality of patient care that is both professional and compassionate.

The Valley Baptist Foundation exists to assure philanthropic support for state-of-the-art technology and facilities, advanced health care services, community programs and medical education offered at our hospitals. In fiscal year 2007 alone, Valley Baptist Health System provided $247 million to 133,949 patients in uncompensated care for charity, Medicaid and Medicare patients.

“As a partner in this endeavor, you would be helping Valley Baptist make a difference in the health and well being of those we serve,” Ms. Quisenberry added. “Last year the event raised $60,000 and this year our goal is
$75,000, with all the dollars going to help serve the women in our community.”

For the second year in a row, Cardon Healthcare Network, Inc. is serving as Presenting Sponsor for the Black Tie Bash.
