Elliff Motors Donates Shuttle Van to Valley Baptist
HARLINGEN - Elliff Motors of Harlingen has donated a van to
Valley Baptist Health System which will be used to transport Valley
Baptist staff members between the main hospital building and outlying
Valley Baptist facilities.

The
donation was made by Bill Elliff, who also serves as Vice Chairman for
the Valley Baptist Health System Board of Directors, and his brother,
Joe Elliff, of Harlingen.
The Elliff Motors donation is a continuation of charitable giving to
Valley Baptist by the Elliff family. The Elliff brothers’ father, Larry
Elliff, has been a longtime supporter of the hospital. Bill Elliff has
also supported Valley Baptist Medical Center - Harlingen through financial gifts and his service on the
board, and Joe Elliff made a recent gift of car seats for newborn babies
who are discharged from the hospital.
Valley Baptist has provided the shuttle service since 1996, and
Valley Baptist - Harlingen
Auxiliary Volunteer Archie Ostberg has been the driver since the service
began. The shuttle service provides transportation to staff members
between the main hospital and other points of service for Valley
Baptist, such as Valley Baptist’s “CMF Building” (the old Sears
Warehouse building on Glasscock Drive in Harlingen). That building now
houses the Valley Baptist Sandi Jo Funk Hospice Program, which serves
terminally-ill patients and their families throughout the Valley; Valley
Baptist Home Health; and other departments of the hospital.
