Valley Baptist Strategic Initiatives
As our organization moves toward the future, we focus on five strategic initiatives in order
to achieve a shared vision to accomplish our mission as the leading health care provider in South Texas.
Integration
Integration addresses how things work together, with an emphasis on standardization, coordination and communication. In addition to
hospitals in Harlingen and Brownsville, Valley Baptist also has Golden Palms Retirement Center, Valley Baptist Health Plan, Home Health,
Hospice, Rehab Services, Advanced Medical Supply, Athletix Gym and Wellness Center, just to name a few. Through these various entities,
we offer a patient just about anything they will need when it comes to health care. Referrals to the home care agency, or to the skilled
nursing facilities at Golden Palms, Valley Baptist will ensure that customers continue to receive excellent service after they leave the hospital.
Simplicity
Simplicity addresses how the Health System can make things easier from the customer's perspective. We will examine how to make it
easier for patients and physicians to access and use our system. As a complex industry, Valley Baptist will make it easier for
people understand what we do.
Six Sigma Quality
Six Sigma initiatives represent our commitment to quality and improvement. We will continue to enhance our systems and processes
so that we provide consistent and reliable results, providing the best possible outcomes for each of our patients.
Relentless Service
The goal of this initiative is Valley-wide coverage. We are seeking to create a region-wide network, anchored by hospitals and
supported by home care and our health plan. Partnerships, such as our partnership with Driscoll Children’s Hospital,
will play a key role in helping us to expand our network.
Service Expansion and Regionalization
As a health care organization, everything we do is service-oriented. Our focus must always be on the customer. We need to
be unrelenting in how we offer services, and we need to simplify the customer's ability to access our services. We need to
provide quality, meaningful experiences for each of our customers.
